Sorry, No Porn Here.

I blog about a lot of things. A lot of HAMSTER related things in one way or another.
One thing I have never, even remotely, blogged about is porn.

So when I was looking at my WordPress stats page, I was casually reading all the crazy things people had googled to get to my blog and I was disgusted unpleasantly shocked by 2 of the searches that had taken place to result in my blog being selected.

“hamster porn”
“pet hamster porn”

what the fuuu?!

THERE IS NO PORN HERE, HAMSTER OR OTHER. MOVE ON.
Its sometimes nice to see what people search to get to here but this is not cool. Just no.

I have censored this picture of Eve for this post.
I think we can agree that its unnessecary and a bit creepy in all honesty. So this post is just a notice to the person/people who are searching ‘odd’ things.

This is a decent and respectable blog about family pets. No porn, no dirty nothing here. Okay?

On a lighter note, what is the weirdest thing someone has searched to get to your blog? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has gotten bizarre search results!

  1. Someone searched ‘naked guinea pig’ and found our blog. Naked guinea pig? If there any other kind? Who searches for naked guinea pigs anyway? Whee like being in our birthday suits, au natural but they make us self concious.

    Somebody fetch me some underpants!

    Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil
    xxxx

    • hahahaha oh my goodness! There are some funny ones out there! Naked guinea pigs, ooooerrr! :s Usually I get really respectable searches ‘how to tell if my hamster is a boy or girl’, etc etc and then BHAM, theres porn searches!! :|| Its just bizaaaare! lol, I dont think Eve will be seen in her pink bikini again – not her style hahaha xxx

  2. hahahaha
I love to look to search terms, the most common on my blog is “mom daughter doggy style” it’s has over 40 hits. You can only imagine the sort of things people look including the name of my blog lol
    It’s too funny.

  3. I have gotten the crazy searches highest honor: “The painted nose” among others. I don’t understand how they get here!

    • hahaha at least the painted nose is quite a clean search term, I have had a few people searching Andy Warhol and things like that and Im thinking, they are going to be disappointed when they find a hamster blog here hahaha :D Crazy internet!

  4. For my regular family blog I had a TON of hits for BIG FEET. Or Big feet porn. Etc. And the exact post they were being led to was a post of a close up picture I took of my 2 year olds cute feet as he was sleeping. I commented somewhere that for a 2 year old he had big feet. YEAH. I was so disturbed I reposted it and back dated it and took that blog off public listings. no nasty searches since!!!

    • Oooooh noo! Thats when things get creepy! How unsettling to know people were getting to a picture of your 2 year old! That is definitely not cool! I was considering turning on that Google privacy but about half of my traffic is actual searches, and genuinely pleasant searches, just got 2 hits that have shocked me a little. Just one of those things with blogging I guess we have to get used to. :P xx

  5. Is it horrible that this made me chuckle? How twisted must you be to search for hamster porn? I don’t get it! On a side note: how can I find out about searches? :) I know I am asking an expert.

    • Hahaha, no its better to laugh at it! :P There must be some seriously odd people out there to find looking at hamsters exciting hahaha, deary me!
Right when you hover over the WordPress logo in the top left hand corner of your page (the first thing on the black toolbar) click to view your stats page. Once you are on your stats page on the left hand side of the page, 3 titles down, it will say ‘Search Engine Terms’
Under that there will be a list of things people have typed into google/yahoo/bing etc to get to your blog. If theres nothing there you arent getting search engine hits just yet – it sometimes takes a week or two to register with google your site so dont worry if not just yet. Also tag your posts lots, leads people to your posts :D ahahah expertised out! :D

  6. Whenever I google for free hamsters, it always comes up with porn sites. There’s a huge porn network called XHamster (I don’t know why–casual inspection showed only human porn, thank God) that’s the cause. At least, that’s what I hope people are looking for.

    • Oh dearrrrrrr, well thank you for the heads up. I think this post is leading even more people to this blog, lookig for porn. May have to take it down or something, its a bit disturbing haha even if they are searching for a specific site :P

  7. Hahahaha! I haven’t been searched for yet using weird terms but I did notice that I get a few more hits whenever my blog post has the word “butt” in it (as in exercise to tone your butt) and until now, the most views I had was when I published “Push It!” (about push-up exercises). So now I’m seriously thinking of coming up with a post “Push the Butt”. Hahahaha!

    • Hehehe, it would definitely be worth a go, draw in that traffic :D haha, since this post I get a porn search or two nearly everyday now… All ‘hamster porn’ or variations of that which is confusing because the title of this post is quite clear haha! Funny old Internet!!

Squeak up folks! What do you think??
